Poseable Kudagitsune artdoll. Each doll measures 95cm long (37,4 inches) aprox. Their head is 3D modelled and printed in resin, hand painted with acrylic paint and attatched to an inner articulated plastic armature that allows poseability. Body is hand sewn using synthetic fur fabric (vegan friendly).

ABOUT KUDAGITSUNE IN JAPANESE FOLKLORE:

Kudagitsune (管狐) are a low rank type of Kitsune. They are a breed of small, thing and long bodied foxes that oftenwise are found serving sorcerers and fortune tellers as magical familiars. Due to their small size they can be conveniently hidden on the human body, inside sleeves, pockets or carried inside bamboo pipes.

Kudagitsune are used by sorcerers in divination rituals due to their great magical abilities that allow them to know things and gather information; or curse their enemies (or their clients' enemies), since they are a type of tsukimono: spirits able to haunt, possess and manipulate humans.

Households with kudagitsune are usually known as kuda mochi. Kuda mochi families, using their magical familiars' powers often become wealthy and powerful very quickly, but as the family grow, they tend to get more and more kudagitsune as they quickly breed, which can lead them to ruin, as they will eat them out of house and home.

Kudagitsune are native to mountain shaman traditions of Nagano Prefecture, but have spread throughout other mountainous regions of central and eastern Japan. In the wild, kudagitsune behave like other small mammals like foxes or weasels and avoid human contact. Although it can happen, it is rare than a wild kudagitsune allows itself to be tamed by a human and bond with them as their magical familiar.
